The End of One Chapter, The Beginning of Ease
How perimenopause and midlife taught me to stop chasing, start refining, and let my work grow in rhythm with my becoming.
As we come to the close of November, I’ve been sitting quietly with my tea, reflecting on how much has shifted in my work, in my body, and in my being.
When I began Tea with Self back in June, it was never meant to be grand. It was born from a whisper, a need for a softer space. A pause in the noise. A place to write, reflect, and reconnect.
What I didn’t realise then was that this space would grow into something so intimate, so grounding, and so deeply human.
Together, we’ve shared over 120 cups of tea and truth. We’ve explored self-worth, rest, purpose, grief, joy, midlife transitions, and the art of coming home to ourselves. Each post was a conversation, not just between you and me, but between who we were and who we’re becoming.
And now, just as the seasons shift, I feel that familiar pull again. A gentle knowing that Tea with Self has served its purpose, beautifully, completely, and that it’s time to evolve into something deeper.
Perimenopause has been one of my greatest teachers. It’s stripped away what’s unnecessary, the pretending, the pushing, the performing, and brought me face to face with the raw, unfiltered truth of what matters.
It’s as though midlife came in, swept through my home, and whispered, “You can’t carry all of this anymore.”
And I listened.
I started simplifying everything. my routines, my commitments, even my thoughts. I decluttered not just my home, but my calendar, my social feeds, and my work. Because for me to show up fully, as a woman, a mother, a creator, and a guide, I needed to release what no longer felt aligned.
This is the clarity that midlife brings, isn’t it? It’s not just about reinventing ourselves; it’s about refining ourselves. It’s about saying, “This stays. This goes.” It’s about choosing peace over pressure, meaning over motion, presence over performance.
And so, as I close this chapter, I can see how much my work has evolved, not in scale, but in depth.
My business has always been a personal brand, but really, it’s been a mirror, reflecting my growth, my healing, my becoming. It has never been separate from who I am. When I evolve, it evolves. When I slow down, it breathes deeper too.
That’s the gift of doing soul-led work: your brand becomes a living, breathing reflection of your truth. It grows as you grow. It sheds as you shed. It refines as you refine.
And this is where I find myself now, ready to move into a new rhythm that feels calmer, slower, more intentional.
If you’ve been feeling it too, that quiet nudge inside whispering “something needs to shift”, trust it. That pull isn’t restlessness. It’s wisdom. It’s your body, your spirit, your intuition asking for a life that fits who you are now, not who you used to be.
Midlife has a way of cracking us open. Perimenopause brings clarity in ways we don’t expect. Suddenly, the noise feels louder, the busyness feels heavier, and the things we once tolerated begin to feel impossible to carry.
You start to realise that peace isn’t found by adding more; it’s found by releasing what no longer feels aligned.
And here’s the thing, you don’t need to have the whole plan mapped out.
Change rarely begins with a grand gesture; it starts with a single brave decision to listen to yourself.
This season of my life, and my business, has reminded me that refinement is growth. That slowing down is a form of success. And that every time you choose alignment over approval, you create a life that breathes easier.
If you’re feeling that same pull, here’s your invitation to begin:
Gentle Action Steps to Support Your Own Evolution
1. Create Space to Listen: Take a slow morning or quiet evening this week and ask yourself: What feels heavy right now? Don’t rush to fix it. Just name it. Awareness is the first act of change.
2. Simplify One Thing: Choose one area of your life, your routine, your home, your commitments, and gently declutter it. Ask: Does this add value to my life? If not, it’s safe to let it go.
3. Revisit What Truly Matters: Write down what matters most to you at this stage of life: your health, your peace, your purpose, your connections. Keep this list somewhere visible. Let it become your compass when decision fatigue sets in.
4. Take One Inspired Action: Whether it’s setting a boundary, saying no to something that drains you, or finally starting something your heart’s been calling for, do it. Small inspired actions create real, lasting momentum.
5. Honour the Process: Change doesn’t need to be fast to be powerful. Let it unfold at the pace of truth. Remember: consistency is more transformative than intensity.
This is your reminder that you’re allowed to evolve. You’re allowed to release, refine, and rebuild. You’re allowed to crave a slower, truer rhythm, and to design a life that supports it.
Because you are not falling behind. You’re arriving, exactly where you’re meant to be.
A Reflection for You:
What are you being called to release before stepping into a new season?
What feels heavy, and what feels true?
Tiny Ritual to Try:
Light a candle.
Write down what no longer serves you, even if it’s just one word.
Fold the paper, take a deep breath, and whisper, “Thank you, but I’m done carrying this.”
Then, close your eyes and imagine the space that’s now free, waiting for something beautiful to arrive.
Here’s to the endings that make way for new beginnings.
To refinement as expansion.
To a gentler way forward, in work, in life, and in the way we hold ourselves.
With love and gratitude,
